Seborrhoeic Keratosis

What is Seborrhoeic Keratosis?

Although harmless, they can become irritated or cosmetically bothersome.

How it can present:

/ Raised lesions
/ Rough or waxy texture
/ Light brown to dark brown in colour
/ Single or multiple lesions

What influences Seborrhoeic Keratoses?

/ Genetics
/ Age
/ Long-term sun exposure

How I approach treatment?

Before treatment it's important that any suspicious lesion has been appropriately assessed and that you are up-to-date with your annual skin cancer checks.

If there is ever uncertainty regarding diagnosis, I will recommend review by your GP or dermatologist before proceeding.

Where appropriate, treatment can significantly improve the appearance of benign seborrhoeic keratoses, although multiple sessions are sometimes required depending on their size and thickness.
