Laser Genesis is a non-invasive 1064nm laser treatment that gently heats the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production while targeting the microvasculature responsible for diffuse redness. Over time, this helps improve skin texture and tone, soften fine lines, reduce redness and create a stronger, more resilient complexion.
The facial begins by preparing the skin with cleansing, customised exfoliation and extractions where required before moving into Laser Genesis. Dermalux LED, massage, masking and individually selected finishing formulations complete the treatment, supporting the skin while allowing the nervous system to settle.
It is this combination that makes the treatment particularly special: the corrective capabilities of laser without losing the care, touch and restoration of a facial. Skin is left immediately brighter and refreshed, while collagen remodelling continues to unfold in the weeks following treatment. How does Laser Genesis work?
Laser Genesis uses a 1064nm wavelength to gently and progressively heat the dermis. This controlled thermal stimulation encourages collagen remodelling while also targeting small vessels within the skin that contribute to persistent diffuse redness.
Rather than aggressively resurfacing the skin, it works beneath the surface, making it a particularly useful treatment for gradually improving overall skin quality with minimal disruption to the epidermis.
Does Laser Genesis hurt?
Laser Genesis is generally very comfortable. Most clients describe a gentle warming sensation, often likened to warm raindrops passing over the skin. Heat gradually builds throughout the treatment but should remain very tolerable.
How many treatments will I need?
While the skin often appears beautifully bright and luminous after a single treatment, the results are cumulative.
For collagen stimulation, redness, texture and overall skin rejuvenation, I generally recommend an initial course of approximately four to six treatments, spaced around four weeks apart. From there, occasional maintenance treatments can be incorporated according to your skin and goals.
When will I see results?
An immediate result is expected following treatment, particularly when Laser Genesis is performed as part of the full facial.
The deeper changes take longer. Collagen remodelling is a gradual biological process, so improvements in texture, firmness and fine lines continue to develop over the weeks and months following a treatment course.
Is there any downtime?
There is minimal to no downtime. The skin may appear slightly flushed and feel warm immediately afterwards, but this generally settles relatively quickly and most clients return to their normal activities the same day.
Is Laser Genesis good for redness and rosacea?
It can be an excellent treatment for diffuse redness and alleviate some symptoms associated with rosacea. Laser Genesis works differently from targeted vascular laser: rather than treating individual visible capillaries one by one, it works more broadly strengthening the vascular network below.
Where both diffuse redness and distinct visible vessels are present, I may recommend combining Laser Genesis with targeted CoolView vascular treatment for a more comprehensive approach.
How long do the effects last?
Collagen produced in response to treatment becomes part of your skin, but skin is continually influenced by UV exposure, inflammation, hormones, lifestyle and other factors.
Similarly, improvement in redness doesn't mean the skin can never develop new vascular changes. Maintenance treatment, consistent homecare and daily sun protection all play a role in supporting the skin long term.
Is it pregnancy safe?
No. Laser Genesis is not performed during pregnancy. Individual suitability will also be assessed for medications, medical conditions, recent sun exposure and other laser contraindications before treatment.
What should I know before booking?
Avoid significant sun exposure and tanning before your appointment and let me know about any medications, recent cosmetic procedures or changes to your medical history.
